This week I'm on my own again right before my trip back to NY for the 4th of July week. I'm starting off with the big bad Blizzard announcement, which leads into some ideas on reviving and evolving retro games, as well as success and failure of other game sequels. From there I talk about two major recent U.S. Supreme Court decisions and what I think about the issues each one affected. This week's show title may seem random, but it's actually directly related to something I mention in the show. Enjoy!

Hey, your comments about more games about side characters made me wonder if you\'ve ever played the game Demon\'s Crest for the Super Nintendo. It is based on the demon character from Ghosts n\' Goblins. It is one of my favorite games ever. Its like Mega Man in that you can be different demons that have different powers, that you need to beat different levels. Also you didn\'t mention any of the Wario games. I haven\'t played too many of the WarioWare games, but I was a big fan of the Wario Land series.

\"A well armed populace is the best defense against tyranny\".

Anyways, I\'m totally psyched about Diablo 3. I\'ve been playing Diablo 2 for about 10 years and it\'s always been hard for me to get people to play with via LAN.
I can\'t wait for it to come out.

I understand that you have the 2nd amendment, but should it really be a \"right\" to own a gun. It\'s not a right to drive a car, you need to get a license and register your vehicle, and insure it, but nobody complains that it infringes on their rights to free movement because of all the regulations required before you can drive.
What about the recent case in Texas, this guy calls the Police to report a break in next door, and even tells them he\'s going outside with his shotgun and he\'s going to kill them, and that\'s exactly what he does. And even worse, HE SHOT THEM IN THE BACK, and the the grand jury refuses to indict. Apparently there is a law in Texas that you can shoot a burglar as they are fleeing the scene, even if your not in any danger, the unwritten part of that law appears to be that you will only get away with it if your white. The chances of a non-white getting off - zero. I know they were breaking the law, but it was a crime against property, not against person. The old fool knew there was no danger to his neighbors, they were away, and if stayed in his house, their was no danger to him.
On the death penalty for pedophiles, a very good point was brought up, if the animals know they will get the death penalty, they will kill to cover the crime, that means less chance of survival for the victims. I know the victims still suffer for many years after, if not their whole lives, but with the right support they can live their lives with some measure of happiness. To me, the right penalty would be solitary confinement for life,no parole, with a noose hanging in the cell, they can make the decision themselves.

\"The federal government is subservient to the will of the people so why should they be allowed to have guns and not us?\" - A fair point, and my feeling here is that the individual is not required to train on the use of a gun, where the police are. Not that training at all guarantees against abuse.

\"Also you didn\'t mention any of the Wario games. I haven\'t played too many of the WarioWare games, but I was a big fan of the Wario Land series.\" - Excellent point! I love the Wario games, and now that I\'ve heard of Demon\'s Crest I\'ll be seeking it out since I love the Ghouls N Ghosts games.

\"\'A well armed populace is the best defense against tyranny.\' Anyways, I\'m totally psyched about Diablo 3.\" - Again, a good point about the people needing to ensure that the government stays within its bounds, although I might argue that as defense technology becomes more and more advanced the vote becomes as powerful as a gun. As for Diablo, I\'m happy for the fans of the series who now have a new installment. I know I\'m ready and waiting for Deus Ex 3.

\"What about the recent case in Texas, this guy calls the Police to report a break in next door, and even tells them he\'s going outside with his shotgun and he\'s going to kill them, and that\'s exactly what he does.\" - A perfect example of the risk of home gun ownership. Some may agree with what was done, but how long before someone is shot for something even lesser? Slippery slope.

\"To me, the right penalty would be solitary confinement for life,no parole, with a noose hanging in the cell, they can make the decision themselves.\" - To an extent I agree, but it shouldn\'t be on my dime.

Thanks a lot for the discussion, this kind of feedback is what makes the show worth doing.

You mentioned that only the army, police, and people within the federal government should have guns. I really must disagree because in this country we live in a democratic republic, and the citizen is the highest authority. The federal government is subservient to the will of the people so why should they be allowed to have guns and not us?

The second amendment is not written very clearly, but if you read what all of the founding fathers said, they all supported the citizens right to own guns. People mistake the word \"militia\" for army, but the militia and the regular army are seperate. The militia consists of all citizens over 18 able to bear arms.
