This week we've got Cooter back on the panel, and we start off with the disgrace that most people like to call Spiderman 3. We talk about the movie version of the character in general before we turn to another disappointing sequel, Left 4 Dead 2. Is this a sequel, or a cash grab by Vavle? That leads us into online gaming, which evolves into a discussion on the recent 'internet czar' to be appointed by our President and what impact that may have on the net in general. Then, a discussion on the gray area of illustrated child porn, specifically from a recent case involving a man being branded a pedophile for owning manga. Next, we talk about Project Natal and the potential for both success and failure of this amazing technology initiative. Talking about Microsoft leads us into Windows 7, which is shaping up to possibly erase the stain of Vista. Finally, we talk about Linda Carter (yes, Wonder Woman) and stem cell contacts. Enjoy!

Loved the show as always, good to hear Cooter\'s voice again.

I agree with a lot of what Sam said, especially in relation to art, if you don\'t like it, don\'t look at it. If you want to find some real controversy in art, look up Bill Henson, in Australia. He took some pictures of naked children, with the child and parents consent, and had an exhibition, which the police promptly closed and confiscated the photos, But they couldn\'t support a charge. I don\'t know the full details, but surely if you see images of naked children, and see sexual content, that\'s your mind doing it.

On the stem cells, there is great work going on over here, in NSW. We don\'t seem to have as many anti-stem cell zealots preventing research that has the potential to cure almost any physical injury or degeneration. I was reading the other day about correcting spinal injuries by injecting stem cells directly into the spinal cord. The future will be amazing.

Great show, I really enjoy the round table feel that develops with Cooter\\\'s presence.

Couple things:

I believe wholeheartedly in the statement, \\\"The purpose of art is to inform on an emotional level.\\\" Our emotional and visceral reaction to art
informs us about our predispositions, prejudices, assumptions, in an entirely different way from rational and logical discussion. We react. And that reaction cranks the resolution of our self image into hi-def.

I read the article on the \\\"manga pedophile\\\" and it really surprises me that a competent lawyer didn\\\'t believe himself qualified to convince twelve, presumably rational, people that the books in question do qualify as art because they inform the reader/viewer as to their own personal limits of aesthetics and propriety. Sometimes art has to push past boundaries. But maybe not everyone understands things like that. Maybe laws are always written in the throws of hysteria and enforced in demented paranoia. I don\\\'t want to believe I live in that world. I think that\\\'s why I need video games.

I\\\'m casting a cautiously optimistic eye at the prospect of an internet \\\"czar\\\". My reason is simple and possibly shortsighted, I think that internet access should be a public utility. I believe it\\\'s a basic human right, like water.

Again, great show.
