This week we're talking about what seems to be the latest trend in personal computing, the magical touchscreen. Microsoft has their table, the iPhone was the rage 2 months ago, and now the seemingly invulnerable iPod has gone button-free with the new iTouch. But is the touchscreen the future, or are we just seeing the latest in a long line of overhyped but underadopted technologies? Will touchscreens dominate our lives from now on, or are we looking at another product architecture that will fail to impress the masses?

With regards to advertising, I fully support any action that helps to keep the podcast \'on air\'.

In fact, I am quite tickled by the irony of having advertising on the Ozone Nightmare, especially when I review your catalogue of previous shows. There’s a potential for amusement here.

I think you should kill two birds with one stone: get paid for your efforts AND poke fun at the whole notion of advertising and the nature of our society and culture. My advice is to capitalise on this opportunity by running the stupidest ads you can find as sort of an in-joke with the listener. You could run ads for myspace, American Idol, SUV dealerships, late night religious TV etc. etc. Of course this assumes a level of topic selection that might not feasible or even available, but it\'s still a fun thought.

If you end up running more mundane ads that are tangentially related to the podcasting medium (e.g. web hosting), is there a clause that says you can\'t insult the ads you run on the show? I think you should be able to.

Advertising? Go ahead - I may even listen because you asked me too!
